Inflate

12,000 balloons were hand-tied to mesh fencing simulating vibrant strokes of paint. Intermingling colors cascaded down the surface offering the effect of a waterfall. Inflate was originally created to hang along the side of a bridge and be viewed from the Atlanta Beltline pedestrian trail that passed beneath. The massive interest in the piece led to a commission to re-hang it as a stage backdrop at the A-town Get Down charity music event. The unique, aged venue and contrast of natural and artificial light brought a new perspective and meaning to the piece.
